Weekly Intention #6: Be Kind to Youself

It's the week of Valentine's, a great time to show your self some love! When you start judging or thinking negative thoughts turn them into happy, positive thoughts. Whether you are happily single or in love, the secret to happiness is self-love. Say goodbye to judgment, cancel the negative thoughts and think or say something positive. Instead of wanting to change something about yourself why not accept and embrace it.

Start of your day with positive affirmations. Wake up feeling healthy and revived, and knowing that you are beautiful, strong and confident. You know that little voice inside your head that always has something defeating or unsupportive to say? Gently tell it to be quiet. Replace that voice with the supportive, accepting and kind voice. Realize that all of your beautiful traits are what make up beautiful, unique you.

All of this starts with taking care of yourself. Here are a few simple tips to get you started:

Eat well. Focus on plant-based foods that give you energy (see intention #5). This is the foundation to feeling radiant, alive and energetic.

Move. Take a walk outside (nature is so soothing to the soul), wake up 10 minutes early to do some gentle stretching, or dance. Do whatever increases those healthy endorphins that create the feeling of love and happiness.

Do at least one thing a day that truly makes you happy. This is you and your passion. We all have to make compromises for families, kids, spouses, etc. but make sure to do at least one thing a day that really moves your soul. It can be an at home spa treatment, reading a chapter in a favorite book, or taking a yoga class. Do something that is for only you.
