So often we wake up and move right into our day with our to-do list in hand. Think about how your day might change if you took a few minutes to reflect on things that make you feel grateful before you start your day. You may begin by writing down three to five things for which you are thankful. It's a positive way to start your day and only takes a few minutes. Or you can end your day acknowledging what makes you thankful which creates a sweet, peaceful sleep!
Grab a journal or notepad (or even sticky notes!) and place it by your bed. In the morning when you rise or at night before you go to sleep write down a handful of things that make you feel happy, peaceful and grateful. Writing it down will really make it stick plus you can always revisit the notes as a reminder during more difficult times. If writing in a journal is not for you, just thinking about it and making a grateful list in your head creates positive thoughts and emotions. The more you think about what fills your heart the less space you have to think about what is missing.
