We realize it's tough enough to get everything done in one day let alone find time to do something you really love. But if you really look at your schedule you might be able to carve out at least 15 to 30 minutes a day to do something that truly serves you.
Sacrifice an hour of television or leave the house a little untidy for a day in order to devote time to yourself. Put down the to-do list, silence the phone, and close the computer-not everything has to be attended to immediately.
Figure out what it is that you truly love. You know it-those things that make you feel fulfilled, happy and at peace. So often we push these things aside and instead be a slave to all the things that we have to do during the day instead of finding time to do the things that we love during the day. It’s time to stop procrastinating and start doing! It doesn’t have to take long. Only 15 to 30 minutes a day of practicing soul-fulfilling activities can truly make you feel alive and rejuvenated. It’s a similar outcome to doing 15 to 30 minutes of meditation. It enlivens and reignites you.
Sacrificing your to-do list, the phone and computer will be well worth it we promise. Pick up a book you've been longing to read. Listen to music that makes your soul sing. Take a walk through the park. Take a bath. Do whatever feeds your soul. It's rejuvenating and energizing. It will help you be more productive in other aspects of your day, making those 15-30 minutes time well-spent.
(ps. taking time for yourself is not a selfish thing...no guilt allowed!)
